Boards Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Boards by Brand Expert ("the Service"). By creating a workspace or using the Service you agree to them. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you may bind that business.
1. The Service
The Service is a team workspace for planning tasks, deadlines and project finances, and for planning, scheduling and publishing social media content to accounts you connect. Features vary by plan as described on our pricing page.
2. Accounts and workspaces
- You must provide accurate details and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- The workspace owner controls membership, billing and branding for their workspace.
- You must be 18 or older to use the Service.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly per workspace, in South African Rand, through PayFast. Add-ons (such as extra content boards and AI credit top-ups) are billed as described at purchase.
- New workspaces receive a free trial of paid features; no card is required for the trial.
- You can cancel at any time; your plan remains active until the end of the paid period and then moves to the free plan. Purchased AI credits do not expire.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email.
4. Your content
- Everything your team creates in the Service stays yours. You give us only the rights needed to operate the Service (storing, displaying, and — when you instruct it — publishing content to your connected social accounts).
- You are responsible for the content you publish through the Service, including compliance with each social platform's rules.
- We may remove content that is unlawful or that abuses the Service.
5. Connected social accounts
When you connect a social account, you authorise the Service to act on it as you direct (publish scheduled posts, retrieve statistics, and, where enabled, retrieve comments and messages so your team can respond). You may disconnect an account at any time inside the Service, which ends our access. Use of each platform remains subject to that platform's own terms.
6. AI features
Optional AI features generate suggestions (such as captions and summaries). You review and are responsible for anything you use or publish. AI usage is metered by credits as described on the pricing page.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to send spam, infringe others' rights, distribute malware, attempt to access other workspaces' data, or resell the Service without our written agreement.
8. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" and may occasionally be interrupted (including by the third-party platforms and processors we depend on). We back up data regularly. Support is available at the email below.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for actions taken by social platforms against your accounts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, in compliance with POPIA.
11. Ending or changing the Service
You may delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to workspace owners at least 14 days before they take effect.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
